Gratitude Has a Deeper Meaning to Me Now

Do you know what gratitude really means? I was meditating on it today and my inner voice said to me: "Look it up." And so I looked up gratitude in the dictionary and it said:

readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness

Wow...to be ready to show appreciation. How many of us are ready to "show" it? I see many people are going about their world in reactive mode. How can they be ready to show it if they are lagging behind trying to catch up with everyone else's mode or agenda? And if we are acting in reactive mode, it will not be as natural or appropriate to return kindness to others. And so I looked up "reactive" and it said:

acting in response to a situation rather than creating it

Well, aren't we here to create our journey? If we are in reactive mode, it's impossible to create. We are just acting on everyone's creation and forgetting ourselves. Proactive people are leading the reactive people around.

And so I looked up "creating" and I read:

cause something to happen as a result of one's actions

Well, that's more like it. Causing something to happen. What great things are you causing to happen in your life? What are you creating? Are you creating your life or are you just in reactive mode allowing others to create your life?

Is this what we are doing this holiday season? Aren't we supposed to be part of this picture too? Are we nurturing ourselves as well? Even the smallest things are the greatest things, such as taking the time out to read, play, take baths, breathe, meditate, move our bodies. Notice I didn't say "exercise" since there is too much work and negative energy associated to that word. Moving our bodies is more like it, such as walking, dancing, yoga, Tai Chi, etc. Moving means getting oxygen in our bodies so our cells can create new cells. Yes, create, because we initiated that movement with our breath. Oxygen creates new cells, which in turn creates a new you.

So, if I am creating, I am in control of my journey. If I am in control, then I can be ready to show my appreciation for and to return kindness to others.

All this insight came through from the word "gratitude".....wow....gratitude has more meaning to me now. It means that I am the creator of my journey, my life, my body, and I am ready to show appreciation for and to return kindness, especially to myself.

Ah...gratitude....a special word for me....:)

Maui Retreat Was Miraculous

Aloha! I just came back facilitating a Spiritual Retreat in Maui.

What a wonderful time we had on Maui. There were 13 of us. Better known as the Maui Goddesses. We all are so different and yet the same. We are different since we all have different backgrounds, different lifestyles, different physical appearances, ages, etc. However we were all the same since we all had the intention to release, resolve and heal. To spiritually connect to our Creator, our Higher Self, our purpose.

Words cannot define the magic and miracles we felt, witnessed and observed throughout the six days that we were there.

We stayed at Makawao, an area that the native Hawaiians consider one of the most sacred places on the island. On September 21, 2007 we went up Haleakala Crater for sunset, where the earth's root chakra is located, and we energetically connected with various people around the world to promote peace and love. We all had a specific mantra: I am Peace, I am Love. As simple as this mantra may seem, it was more than powerful.

As we headed up the road to Haleakala, which was approximately a 1 1/2 hour ride, we were faced with rain, cold, and clouds. As we were getting closer to the top, we could not see driving. The clouds were thick. We finally reached the top and it was also windy and rainy. Seeing a sunset didn't seem likely at all. None of us really wanted to get out of our cars; however we knew we were there for a purpose: to connect energetically and spread peace. So we all got out of our cars and huddled together to create body heat.

And as we were meditating, reciting the mantra repeatedly, calling in our Light Helpers including Goddess Pele, the Goddess of the volcano (Haleakala Crater), we felt and noticed a shift. It stopped raining, the sun came out and Goddess Pele showed herself by lifting the clouds and showing her profile.

We all were in awe and had tears in our eyes to have witnessed this rapid shift in the weather. And to see and feel Pele. And a gift of observing the most beautiful sunset ever! We were on top of the clouds!
We had many other miracles happen. It is impossible to write about them; you'd have to feel and see exactly what we have experienced. It's like the saying: "You had to be there." Hopefully, telling our story will inspire you to experience the magic of Maui for yourself some day.

We had a blast! Maui has a wonderful, sweet, blissful energy. It’s also peaceful, serene and cleansing. Our time was so magical, and I want more! And so within days of my return, I'm already planning another retreat.... I can’t wait for January 2008 to get back and experience more!

Mahalo,
Tina

Planning a Retreat to Maui

Aloha!

I'm packing to go to Maui with 12 wonderful people. Some are my students, some are clients and a couple that I recently met. I'm feeling elated for the spiritual memories we will create. I feel it in my Spirit. Every time I think of this trip, I get in touch with my joyous and fun self.

You see, this trip was all spirit-driven. I was teaching Reiki classes on Maui in May. I took two weeks with my family. The first week I planned to teach/work, and the second week I planned to do nothing related to work. And so I thought. I finished my class on a Sunday and that evening I went to the condo we were staying ready to kick back and relax. The next day while I was meditating, my guides told me that I had to create this retreat and come back with a dozen people.

My first, second and third reactions were "No way!" Do you know what's involved in planning a retreat? It's like planning a wedding. I had just spent a week working, and now I wanted to relax. My guides were so persistent and would not leave me alone. I got the message that this was part of the reason why I was there.

And so I made a deal with my guides. Yes, a deal! I told them I was willing to organize this retreat, however, they would need to do their part and have all the necessary players, including the retreat center, transportation, food, activities, flights, etc. come to me easily. And so they immediately gave me a few words to google. I proceeded to a computer and immediately the retreat center pops up. Wow, what a connection I felt! I knew without looking further that this was the place. I called the center and told them that I would like to visit.

A few days later I visited the center with my family. I noticed the connection to this place right away. The owner and I had a great time planning. She mentioned to me that I can go back home and think about all we had discussed and then when I'm ready either in 2008 or 2009 we can have this retreat. My guides told me right then and there that the time was September 2007, and I shared this info with her. She was surprised and asked me if I had people lined up. I said not yet; however, they were lined up spiritually. She looked at me in amazement. I immediately booked the trip right there.

I went back to my condo and meditated some more. I instantly got several people that were going to come. I promptly called them. I know, I'm on vacation, right? I'm supposed to relax. But this was too exciting! It was a call from Spirit. The people I called straight away said, of course they would come. This was fun. I started to research the food, activities, transportation and everything was clicking. I knew I was on the right track. It felt so right.

So that was in May, and now it's September. Four months later. And we leave on Thursday. Me and 12 beautiful souls. Some activities include going to Haleakala Crater at sunset on
International Peace day and connecting with others energetically across the planet, visiting sacred sites, snorkeling, beach, fun, fun, fun.

The moral of this story is that when you follow your heart and spirit, things will click and go right. One must be open and flexible. Spiritually open and flexible...that's right!

Stay tuned for more stories when we get back.

Did you Fire the Grid?

Yesterday was July 17, 2007 and as many of you know, there have been many emails going around cyberspace regarding "Firing the Grid." The bottom line is that someone was given a message by the Universe that if we all come together at 11:11 Greenwich time and meditate for one hour, we can heal the planet and heal our own personal grid.

I received many emails asking me for my opinion and if this was pure or if this was a hoax. Who was this person? Was she of the white light or not? My belief system is that her intentions (whether good, bad or indifferent) have little to do with our own intentions. If most of us meditated simultaneously for one hour with pure hearts while sourcing the God Force energy, that will override anyone who may have less-than-good intentions.

Many of my students and clients had gatherings at their homes with their friends and loved ones. I decided to stay home solo and fire the grid by myself. I had a tremendous experience just being by myself, and yet I did not feel alone. Feeling the overwhelming love throughout the planet really made me feel hopeful, peaceful and joyful--knowing that our planet is loved and cherished. I know millions came together at that hour. And we don't have to come together physically to heal the planet. Just send positive energy to Mother Earth as you walk upon her. As you walk through your garden or landscaping, express to her that she is loved. Even appreciating each blade of grass...the trees...the flowers....the stone people...the animals...This sends wonderful healing, loving energy throughout the planet, and will reach her core. That loving vibration will be felt all around...and you will notice differences in everything. So, fire the grid with pure, good intention by sourcing God Force energy, as often as you'd like.

Namaste,

Mercury Retrograde

I'd like to share some insight from my friend, colleague, and astrologer Anne Morris. She says, "If you haven't put your request into Mercury for help seeing and hearing the messages being sent over the next few weeks, now is the time. Mercury retrograde "starts" on 6/15/07 and continues until 7/8/07. This mercury retrograde is in Cancer, which is all about security, feelings, family, nurturing.... So look for opportunities to slow down, double check if this is a good time to reconnect with old friends, tell family and others around you how much you appreciate them, in short, build up your foundation of security with love and gratitude. Say what you love. Love your home.

The next few weeks may seem to provide obstacles to starting new tasks. Take time to finish old projects, organize, gain insight to seeing and communicating clearly. Write things down, double check, release all expectations about how things "should" work. Allow more time and be patient, look for sweetness and show gratitude. Look for opportunities to connect with feminine energy, nurturing the moon and water (in your body, your home, the earth). It seems likely that we could be tested with karmic issues and a sense of isolation near the end of the month. Try to avoid making long-term judgements and observe in as detached a way as possible. By re-establishing connections now, temporary illusions will seem less severe or be less personal. Have a patient and sweet few weeks."

Thanks, Anne, for all your wonderful insight.

Namaste,

Today is Saint Anthony Day

June 13 marks the celebration of Saint Anthony. You don’t have to be Catholic or Christian to experience this light being. I have been working with him for years. I even named my son after him because I had a challenging pregnancy. He has always helped me recover lost items as well as many other things. When you come to my place, you will see a statue of him in my backyard. If you call him in, he will help unconditionally. I have lit a candle today honoring him. You can do the same if you’re guided.

Here is a good description I found on the internet…you can google more if you’d like. One of the most beloved of saints, his images and statues are ubiquitous. Proclaimed a Doctor of the Church on January 16, 1946, he is sometimes called the "Evangelical Doctor." He is especially invoked for the recovery of things lost; as well as against starvation, and barrenness. He is the patron of amputees, animals, boatmen, Brazil, diocese in Beaumont, Texas, domestic animals, the elderly, expectant mothers, faith in the Blessed Sacrament, Ferrazzano, fishermen, harvests, horses, lower animals, mail, mariners, oppressed persons, Padua, paupers, Portugal, sailors, scholars, sterility, swineherds, Tigua Indians, travel hostesses, travellers, and watermen.
